Definitely - back when products were made to last. We have a Shark vacuum that gets so much stuff out of carpet but the plastic is so incredibly cheap I doubt it’ll last 5 more years. I really hate the throwaway culture we have.

Omg I am personally attacked (although I don’t ‘collect’ 50s vaccums, I just have one). My grandmother gave me her Kirby vacuum she bought new in 1956 when she moved to a retirement community a couple years ago. It’s beautiful and fully functional.

I think what they do now is design a car, do a wax model of it (instead of clay) then put it under heat for an hour and after all the lines melt and droop they lock in the design.
