I see you haven’t been to the Mystery Spot, have you?

He must have received a lot of blowback from people because he updated his ad an hour ago and all references to other cars have been removed. Thank god.
Completely agree - I lusted so much after BMWs since I was little because my parents had an e28 from the time I was born until I was 7. Then around 1999-2003 this lust increased exponentially as that’s when I was in middle school/early high school. A friend’s dad let me drive his new X5 4.4i when I got my learner’s…
Wages were comparatively higher, of course, but there also weren’t monthly bills for internet/cable, cell phones with data plans, etc. Also, when Jimmy went off to college it was affordable unlike today.
I’m in the same situation you are. I feel fortunate and it helps that my interest happens to be cars from the late 90s/early 2000s and I was able to find well maintained cars (a 2003 540i M sport and a 1999 S500). I’ve tried newer cars with a car payment and I neither liked the newer car nor the car payment (lol).
Eh, while what you say is true about earnings vs. car prices, it’s also that there are lower-priced new cars that would probably not require a long ass loan to ‘afford’, but many (most?) people think they deserve something better, even if it’s out of their price range. For years I’ve called it the Kardashian Effect. …
Maybe I interpreted his wording incorrectly, but he said they refused to fix it, not that they refused to pay for the fix. I thought he meant there was some issue and they just flat out wouldn’t repair it at all.
My personal goal is to never own a car that has a screen. Although we do have a Buick Regal TourX (my spouse’s car) but at least the screen is integrated. I specifically chose my e39 because it didn’t have the nav screen and the W140 was only factory available with a primitive nav screen in Japan. I hate screens, it…
I’m the mysterious “Anthony” who emailed you - thanks for the help David!
Although I hate them too, the reason they do the stand-up infotainment screen is so they don’t have to raise the dashboard to integrate it and can make the screen higher to the line of sight. If you were doing to integrate it into the dash, you would either have to lower it a bit out of line of sight, or raise the…
That’s a great, succinct comparison. Thank you. How long did he keep the W220? And what did he get after the W220?
I plan to! After keeping cars for only about a year the past few years this one feels very right (and special). I would like to sit in/drive a W126 sometime to see what made that one such a classic and a W220 to see what made that one such a disappointment.
Old Benzes look good no matter what. I love them all.
And doesn’t Audi use Lamborghini engines? Hypocrites.
My first thought... if their worry is about diluting the brand by sharing across brand lines... it’s already happened.
And “This software and it’s disk” instead of ‘its disk”.
Hells yes it does. My spouse and I bought a 2020 Regal TourX a little over a month ago and it is an awesome car, especially for the price. Got $8k off MSRP.
While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer
