Hahaha my girlfriend at the time had that ringtone around 2001

They are taking so damn long with this new Wagoneer that by the time it actually is released we’ll be sliding into a recession and full size SUVs will be out of fashion. My god release the damn thing already!

Hmm same thing happened to Mercedes-Benz after the expensive development of the W140 S-Class. This resulted in huge decreases in quality for the successor W220 and their other models that were released in the late 90a - and its pairing up with Chrysler in 2000 made things worse.

Huh? Mercedes has one of the best customer service experiences in the industry. There’s a book about how they turned it around in the late 2000s called Driven to Delight.

4th gear: I am in no way defending airbag companies here, but we are getting to the point here where the oldest airbags are several decades old - wouldn’t you expect that these old airbags wouldn’t always operate properly upoN deployment at that age?

You think that’s bad, at least in the US the front end update was constrained to the Silverado. In Mexico they also updated it for the Tahoe and Suburban which, with their overall more rounded design cues, looks much worse

Don’t forget the king of the S-Classes - the W140

I’ve worked for Tesla for nearly 7 years and even I don’t really know what to think of Tesla.

It’s definitely still there, they just put another newer canvas style ad on top of it. The Supra one was the last one they pasted on there before the canvas style emerged.

Oddly enough, it was Solvang that helped build support to turn Leavenworth into a Bavarian themed town:

Agreed, most of the more technical articles on Jalopnik lose me and my (decidedly non-technical) brain but this was interesting an easy to follow. Great job!

All very good suggestions based on Ivan’s criteria except that damned Cadillac. Not saying it isn’t cool, just does not fit what he wants. Other than that I think the rest of you hit it out of the park with this one.

The opinion of the site actually seems to be ‘don’t use a car to sit in bumper to bumper traffic while commuting (use public transit at all costs), rather use a car for fun on weekends’.

I have a picture of a Kum&Go I took in the middle of nowhere Colorado when my friend and I were on a road trip. We couldn’t stop laughing. That pic accidentally came up when I was showing my grandmother trip pictures so I quickly scrolled to the next one.

Yes, in California one earphone is fine, two is not.

Not anymore for Buick, they discontinued the Regal TourX.

Have to make a brief correction on that model rundown - the M45 later became the M35 (V6) and M45 (V8). Both engines were later upgraded and became the M37 and M56.

As someone who has owned an older BMW, 100% YES on the sunshield front.

Just did a little internet sleuthing and it seems that the first time the word was in a slang dictionary, it was the mid-1910s and was spelled ‘doozy’. But there are others who claim it definitely came from Duesenberg and doozy is just an easier slang spelling.

I’ve always been a 4 door guy and that Duesenberg is perfection (or shall I say, the bee’s knees!). Reminds me of when I used to watch the scene in 101 Dalmatians over and over when Cruella gets stuck in the snow then raced around. I thought it was so cool.
