Got it. Since they’ve updated some older models to confirm with this structure (ML -> GLE) I wonder if they’ll update it at some point in the future.

I am so sorry this happened to you =(
Anyone know why this model has never been called the CLE? I know, I’m looking for logic in model naming schemes... but still.
How much DYNAMISM does it have?
I would be curious to know what the specific take rate is for these models individually. As we have seen, as the cars get larger with each generation and heavier/bloated those wanting a more tossable car with precise handling and a manual tend to look elsewhere. Hence why the M5 went from manual only with the e39 to…
That is excellent feedback - now I’ll have it in the back of my mind that I want a 400E/E420 W124 when I tempt myself by looking at car listings...
It’s beautiful. I keep seeing W126 S Classes and I love them but they would probably be a bit big. The E might be better. Although there seem to be plenty of W126s with under 100k miles because they hail from an era in which the people who bought them treated them like they were something special.
Is that a W124? If so, which model? Even though I’m a modern classic BMW guy, these last of the classic MBs are awesome and I hope to own one some day.
I need a situation like that. My house is from 1923 and I was lucky that the detached garage was for 2 cars (most in my neighborhood are only 1). With the garage being in my backyard there isn’t really space to add for more parking - the previous owners of the house parked a spare car in the garage and parked their…
That is awesome - that’s almost better than a private garage. A shared garage with the lucky opportunity to rent numerous spots.
I respect everyone’s right to live in an urban area - but this is precisely the reason I moved out of one last year. I love my cars and there is no way I could bring myself to permanently park one on the street. I now own a home with a two car garage and a long driveway and I still feel like I need more room... and…
You didn’t miss anything. I am also curious as to why the V8 has such small displacement but the reason for that didn’t seem to be mentioned the article.
If you end up doing the story, touch on how it actually kinda used to mean something. For example, the M Sport e39 540i had a different suspension, performance rear diff, and high stall torque converter, and exposed exhaust tip. The performance rear diff was only previously available on the 540 manual with the sport…
The new V12 can only be had as the M760i. You know, more than M Sport but less than a full M7. I think they call it the M performance line?
My family had a similar experience. In June 2009 we were looking for a 550i with the M sport package. The recession was still a thing and no one wanted V8 sedans. We found a brand new 2008 model grey on black. The sticker on these things was about $70k. It was now a model year old and because 2010 was the last year…
Ha, don’t get me wrong - I LOVE the older ones. Modern classics, if you will. Basically stay away from any chassis that starts with an F. Even some of the last ones starting with an E are questionable. The newer ones are the reason I have a question mark at the end of my username.
