Honestly it might have more to do with my PC than anything else (could also be operator error: see my name), but I get lots of CTDs and hard freezes. NV worse than FO3. sleXbox looks like ass but it’s the most stable in my experience (2700+ hours and counting on NV).

Sweetwater bundles the HS-8”s with a subwoofer. Do you have an opinion on that? I distrust subs in an active setup, distrust them in any setup, actually. Do you use these speakers? Is a sub actually necessary? I have a pair of Rockit-8s and the idea of adding more bass to them is terrifying.

The low-end smearing I’m talking about happens with these speakers when you stick your head in front of them off-axis from the speaker cone.
