Hopefully this game is wildly, incredibly successful and it spurs game freak to drag their asses even further out of the 90s and actually make a pokemon game without the snooze-inducing turn based battle system. Play for fun dude. The cosmetics are complete and totally extra. This question you’re asking “what do i do until then” is a product of the Fortniteification of games. This feeling that you always have to be making progress, always be earning some new and useless cosmetic.

The focus on cosmetics really feels like a product of the fortnite era. At least this stuff feels slightly better than the cat ears, which only serves to show me who I should be focus firing.

It also needs far more monster hunting and far less politics. The Witcher was a perfect opportunity for an awesome monster of the week show, but instead they seem intent on trying to be game of thrones. It's a fun show but a Geralt detective horror show would have been the absolute shit.

I adore WoW. Have played on and off since launch. But Shadowlands was such a fucking chore that I jumped ship. I gave ffxiv a fair shot, for a few months. But it was just so generic and blah. It felt so hollow to me. Not to mention i abhor the character design, just that generic waifish JRPG style.
