Here in low-self-esteem corner, I'm 30 and I have never once taken a sensual pic. Because I know how horrified I would be the moment I looked at it. NO THANKS

Veganism and vegetarianism has plenty of good arguments going for it, and of course a lot of vegans/vegetarians are treated like shit and shunned/joke-about. But I just don't get the overwhelming meat culture offending one's sensibilities as a problem.

there's no such thing as "meat culture" and you are incredibly self-righteous.

It's interesting that you say that you keep your own counsel 99% of the time as you use some fairly negative imagery to describe your feelings about meat eating. I completely understand your aversion to the smell of cooked flesh and your disagreement that it smells delicious. I completely understand how you would

Blugh, except plants have shown remarkable abilities in communication, awareness, and even nurturing.

It is ridiculous because she is using that term to bring to mind rape culture and the marginalization of women, implying that she is similarly discriminated against because she's a vegetarian (which she flat-out said later in the thread). To compare servers rolling your eyes at you to the systematic, global oppression

People are meant to eat both plants and animals. Biologically you just are. You don't have to, and that's cool and all, but because the majority of people eat how nature intended (well, processed stuff aside) that doesn't make it an oppressive "meat culture". That's silly. Sorry, but it is.

meat culture

I have no opinions on vegetarians, but the phrase "meat culture" is hilarious (and comparing it to patriarchy is downright hilarious/infuriating). You are not a marginalized group because you made a dietary choice that isn't common. Saying cooking meat smells delicious is not a slur or attack on vegetarianism, jesus.

again, it would help if you actually knew what the word meant

not sure if you know the definition of "smug" so I'll just leave this:

Oh this is satire, right?

meat culture

Sick burn, dude.

Well, in general devout Christians (or devout people of any faith, really) see pretty much everything as an opportunity for ministry. From waking to sleeping, if you are in contact with a fellow human, you are ministering. That's the whole point.

I suspect that if someone had something pro-gay marriage, people wouldn't have batted an eye. And, in fact, many would cheer. So the issue probably isn't that there's a disdain for "political" commentary/narratives on DWTS.

I'm not okay with this post.

And what do you base this "guarantee" on? You can say that deeply religious people like to interject their beliefs into every conversation, but the same can be said about deeply liberal people. The fact that you wrote this scathing post about a woman just because she happened to express a worldview that did not match

Oh please. How is she "ministering"? The whole point of every "competition" show is that the contestants get/have to tell their personal stories at some point or another. You could easily say that NO ONE is interested in any of the lives that the contestants "dither" about. But of course, the religious one is what

I am super-duper liberal and not Christian, and I have no problem with her behavior. EVERYONE on DWTS is promoting something. I'll keep Cosmos, she can have DWTS.
