All of the big name Sega people abandoned ship when they pulled out of the hardware business. He has his own independent studio now where he’s done some contract work like the new Digimon game. His first big game, Rodea the Sky Soldier, finally comes out later this year after being held hostage by the publisher for

You don’t know who Yuji Naka is? Seriously? He’s the lead programmer and key designer for Phantasy Star, Sonic the Hedgehog, NiGHTS among other things. If Yu Suzuki was Sega’s Miyamoto, he was Sega’s Iwata.

Yuji Naka captioned it.

Yuji Naka posted this image from outside Iwata’s vigil.

What a dick.

Now playing

It’s worth noting that this scene is a reference to a scene towards the end of Shenmue 2.

Yokosuka is interesting for a Japanese town because it has a US Navy base nearby which gives it a strange mix of traditional Japanese town (it was only bombed once in the war) and Americana. The parts of China that it will be in should be great either. They should really pull us into a world that is both real and

In the words of Nintendo’s greatest former president, Tanner, 日本語を話せますよ.

I’ll be in Japan during TGS this year. When and how can I get tickets?

Shenmue 3 is my Shenmue 3 so I see what you’re getting at. I really want to support this game. I had a Saturn so I’ve never played a MML games but I’m a huge Mega Man fan and have always wanted to get into them. This seems like the perfect opportunity to start fresh in what is essentially MML but Inafune isn’t doing

My problem isn’t with collectibles. My problem is with collectibles that are pointless, countless and only designed to add hours to a game for people who like getting trophies. Sonic had the chaos emeralds but you didn’t have to go out of your way to get them. They didn’t add too much time to the game and required

Shenmue 3 isn’t a AAA game made by a bloated company like Square. This money is going to funding YsNet enough that they can hire people and make Shenmue 3. I’m also not concerned about the backer total. Double Fine Adventure basically launched the Kickstarter trend so it’s no wonder it ended up with the number of

I’ve always known it as Jet Cola. I didn’t realize Coca-Cola comarketing was a thing until later. It’s kind of funny because Sapporo survived in Shenmue 2 even though that’s barely a thing in the west.

Let’s make a meme out of him.

Well, I’ve never really liked Crash but at least in Final Fantasy 7 you don’t have the weapons screaming at you in the form of a trophy and the one time I did decide to fight them I found an efficient way to level up and beat them rather quickly. I think Rare is the reason things are like that now. Sega never did that

The kickstarter is a success because with 11 days left, it has the 2nd highest backer total of any kickstarted game project and a number of backers that is on the order of the highest amount of backers you could possibly expect from a kickstarter campaign.

I support all Shenmue related piracy as long as you back the kickstarter.

I find your lack of a Dreamcast disturbing :D

I kind of like controlling Ryo like a car. Shenmue definitely came out in an era when developers weren’t quite sure how to do 3D controls yet. I wish the Dreamcast had dual analogs.

They’ve gone over it again and again. Sony’s involvement is in marketing and development support relating to the PS4 release. Your ignorance on that is your fault not their’s.
