The problem is the chassis and the possibility of the V8.
Putting another motor in my 03 TDI. Was going to build the block after tripling the horsepower with a massive hy35 turbo but it lasted so long I decided to drive it until it blew up which happened a few weeks ago.
No it’s just lightweight cars and skill. With pro level skill you can thrash a big van as fast as amateurs in sports cars.
The law actually doesn’t cap the speed of the law that says you must move right for faster traffic.
I should totally ditch my 90mpg never-rusting all Aluminum 1800lb Insight for this to lower my carbon footprint.
Agreed on this. Way back during a road trip in an 02 Escape V6 4x4 I had one that would do 120mph down hill and coast to 50mph going up the other side.
That’s just the driver skill though and not the car... I do similar things in my 1800lb Insight that due to the low weight can literally out handle just about anything if I drive it correctly and really thrash it into the corners.
I had a 32 valve 4.6 (B-heads) in my 97 Cobra and while the chassis handled like garbage it was a fun good sounding motor.
Americans ignore rally because they think V8s are faster.
I’d guess maybe he is with another automaker and can’t own Fords anymore for the upcoming contract to be revealed.
My favorite are GM badged Suzuki’s with “Made in Detroit” stickers.... because it’s a Chevy [Metro, Tracker, Prism] right.
My first thought about seeing the article headline: “Oh he finally found those 300mph Ghostrider videos of that crazy guy with the 300whp-500whp turbocharged motor cycle doing wheelies north of 150mph holding them well out to 200mph then running from the cops”.
Someone around here keeps stealing no turn on red signs, I’m honestly totally okay with this because the particular light is a long one.
I understand he gets back pay, but does he have to turn in “back work”?
Dash cams. Often I get annoyed when I see a police car driving like a jerk, tailgating everyone, weaving in and out bullying people in the fast lane..... Being a *huge* believer of my right to express myself I roll the window down, look right at them and extend my full arm all the way out of the window and flip them a…
I was teasing but.... Elise is 1600lbs and is a Monocoque chassis. Has nice forged control arm suspension. Manual. Low coefficient of drag.
If emulating a Lotus you should actually buy a light car though....
Love it but with the stock engine I get in the 90s. 40mpg seems like it’s not worth it. Here’s two back to back drives to work north of 90mpg for 18 miles.
Whats the curb weight on the Beat? Is it lower than the all Aluminum 1800lb Insight?
