It has a surprising amount of luggage space, seats three, and I was told by somone from Car and Driver who drove it last year that the ride is like a Jaguar.
I'm totally OK with them not running former F1 drivers in LeMans. Nothing against the F1 guys, but they made it to F1, lets let some others have a chance at the spotlight.

I don't get why you say the steering isn't all that special. Every review I've read of the ATS has the steering feel pegged as being much better than a 3 or 4 series.

Certainly the Quattro would have impressed more in the wet, the snow, or on really awful road surfaces, but it's interesting to see how the car wasn't everything it is remembered to be.
Mine clearing tank. They put a giant rotating drum on the end of two arms at the front of a tank and attach big metal flails to it. It spins and smashes on the ground, detonating any mines it hits.
If I were that guy, the last thing I would be giving a shit about is the other two drivers. I'd be too busy dealing with the realization that my pants are now full of crap.
