Right I did not dispute the fact that we knew there would be timed exclusivity, but timed exclusive DLC for other games had previously been stuff like getting multiplayer map packs earlier. Also previously, games shipped with enough content to not even need DLC to keep people playing.

beforehand people had no idea what the breadth of that DLC exclusivity even meant. There was also a bit of an assumption before launch that the game would ship with any content at all.

They kinda-sorta almost halfway thought about potentially maybe making the IDX, called it good enough then perished the thought.
