you can’t sue people for being people

Did anyone else get severely wigged out by how the movie seems to be expecting us to see Walton Goggins’ character as some kind of lovable rascal when he talks about being a serial rapist, who can’t wait to do it some more? That’s one of the more blatant pre-Me Too bits of writing I can remember.

No he is extremely scrawny looking. He’s somewhat muscular but it’s in the same half-starved way of Kyle Reese in the original Terminator where his clothing looks a size too big.

Hey, hey, hey...let’s not go badmouthing Commando, the greatest Arnold movie ever made. Not to be confused with the greatest movie ever made with Arnold, which would still be The Terminator. No, not Terminator 2 (which is more of an Arnold movie than a movie with Arnold), not any of The Expendables, Not Maggie, Not Con

At the end of ‘The Predator’, I was hoping the pod that the ‘good’ predator brought us was going to be a suited up Adrien Brody. It would have been a nice way to tie it all together.

Except this film isn’t “underrated” but instead is always cited as the second best Predator film. The problem is that, like arthouse cinema, the average person doesn’t care about the Predator series.

“Sully was a decent-sized hit, but it wasn’t a cultural phenomenon. Here, the menacing figures weren’t Iraqi insurgents; they were geese.”

I saw the movie and enjoyed it, even as I realized it was giving Chris Kyle a much nicer view than he deserved. I’d read a profile of him some months earlier, after he’d been killed, and he did not sound like a great guy. The reviews of the movie were positive, and while I’m as bleeding-heart liberal as they come I’m

The Wachowskis outright ask audiences to question everything they’re being told on screen. They want us to disengage with Reloaded as a narrative and look at it from an outside perspective—to unplug and see the code, to detect the manipulation in their filmmaking and apply it to their understanding of Neo’s journey.

So you’re saying this is a movie that was... good on paper?

I mean, their big idea for moving the main saga forward was basically to reset the board so that we could have the Rebels fight the Empire again. Even Lucas knew that was a stupid idea.

What a load of horseshit.
The US has indoctrinated its cititzenry against socialism to such a degree that the fringes use the term as a synonym for everything from kleptocracy through to zionist-paedophile-cabal.
“Oh you never hear about the bad things in socialism...” - oh, apart from the mountain of logical fallacies

He probably could’ve phrased it better, but I agree with the underlying sentiment 100%. It’s absurd that every male friendship gets distorted into a potential gay relationship, even when there’s no evidence beyond the relationship being just a male friendship. Happens with female friendships, too (see, e.g.,

Peak 2013 content

I’m short and I’m not self-conscious about it. Joe Rogan strikes me as the sort of guy who would be, so I’m OK with giving him a hard time about his height.

The food is terrible at Rainforest Cafe, but I’ll admit that I do love getting hammered on neon-colored drinks next to an animatronic gorilla. Similar to how I’m always a sucker for Tiki Bars that have fake erupting volcanoes.

“At that age [19], teenagers are mature enough to know what they’re being part of.”

The Atlantic reported in 2014 that the Veiled Prophet Organization barred Black and Jewish people from joining.

So she entered a pageant and/or attended some weird debutante event. Is there any indication that she was aware it had a racist history? It may be hard for some on here to believe, but googling the damn thing wasn’t an option in 1999.

8 wasn’t brilliant and I still enjoyed it, so this review isn’t gonna put me off.
