Looks like there’s no opening in the rear except for the exhaust pipe, so the vents on top should be functional. Probably to maximize the area on top of the diffuser for whatever reason.

Ah, I was wondering how is it possible to cut that much CO2 while still burning hydrocarbons.
It was Perez in Silverstone, he went from 10th to 16th by getting an extra stop just to take away 1 point from Hamillton.
Overall, unless you have a thing for mid-race interruption, it’s a terrible race track. Looks like Tilke Jr. isn’t any better than his dad afterall.
The load would be spread relatively even across the entire spring. Coil spring is just a torsion bar that going round and round, you can vary the stiffness just by varying the pitch (distance between two adjacent coils), which translate into the length of the coil wire per height of the spring; longer = softer.
I’d welcome sprint races, not sprint qualifying. Reduced distance, reduced points (still awarded to top 10), starting grid can be whatever (reverse championship order or something). As long as the whole grid race for points of the day, they should race properly.
(top-mounted meters, a first for Toyota)
That’s a lot of ground clearance for a supposedly fan car. Was it not functional yet?
And I heard rumor that they want to increase sprint quali to up to a third of the calendar. Yeah, not gonna end well.
They still require ATF? I thought with how simple the internal is (basically only 2 sets of differential) they’d use regular gear oil.
I don’t think any team will run young drivers session in a sprint weekend, FP1 on those would be the only chance for their main drivers to set up their car.
My dad’s Mazda 323 from the 80's has them. There’s a little lever on the AC vents near the door that switch between AC and fresh air intake. And yeah, the fresh air flows naturally based on the car speed. I love it because when the windows open, the rear seats get all the winds, but with the vents I can easily adjust…
SAE and their numbers. Most would think SAE 80 is much thicker than SAE 40, when it’s actually thinner but has different purpose.
Wait. How did the hydropneumatic suspension help when all four tires were flat?
I heard that for Gen3, MGU will be standardized/supplied by FE. It’s might be good for privateer (more standardized parts ≈ cheaper, more competitive), but for works team there’s essentially nothing left to develop.
... wasn’t even on my radar ...

I’d argue that a significant part of how the current season has been the way it is is thanks to the big regulations change. Had Mercedes have their aero department 100% focused on current car, they probably sorted out their floor disadvantages long time ago. Had the teams not forced to use the same chassis as last…
Can it be any cooler than this?
Ironic, considering Red Bull has had the most reliable pit stop job. CMIIW the last time Red Bull had a loose wheel was in 2013 Nurburgring. Meanwhile McLaren had two wheel related unsafe releases in 2019.
