Short answer: A writer got really sad about the number of angry comments they received on a recent terrible article, so the decision was made to dump everybody back into the greys and let staff selectively pull people out.

Seems like that “here’s why it’s cool that young people aren’t voting” article kicked off a firestorm. Y’know, if you don’t want your writers feelings being hurt when they put together idiotic articles, it would be a lot less work to just hire writers who don’t suck at their jobs.

And they wonder why people on the west coast look down on the rest of our dumb country.

I live in Oregon where voter registration is automatic and everyone is mailed a ballot. Democracy is working just fine here.
