Best ad ever. I have an original copy hanging in my garage along with every other 69 Charger ad.

25 years ago, I spent three of my college summers working the “dumb end of the tape” on a survey crew. This was in the days before GPS, and lasers were just coming into use. Worked mostly on road construction in suburban areas, as well as some drainage projects. “Close enough. We ain’t buildin’ no bridge!” is an…
Can we please stop designing these crossovers with the extreme fastback roof lines!?!? It makes for a severely compromised cargo area. My two dogs give this one a big thumbs... err... dew claw.. down.
Nice, but no way you’d get this one road worthy under the budget. Not even close. This build has hit the stage where all the little expenses (sub-$1k) pile up VERY quickly and is probably the reason it’s on the market. DAMHIK.
I’ve often tried to explain to the uninitiated the magnitude of audible violence which accompanies a top fuel dragster pass. It can’t be done with words. You can’t put enough “VERY”s and expletives in front of the word LOUD to adequately convey it.
My first girlfriend had a Chrysler Laser, the Corporate cousin to the Daytona. Had the digital dash. First turbo car I had ever driven. It was a lot of fun when the boost came on.
I concur 100% with your assessment of the CTS coupe. I own the wagon version and it’s hard to believe both were conceived from the same mother. Where the wagon is proportioned so elegantly, the coupe suffers from acute cellulitis.
With all due respect to those involved operating under challenging conditions, that looked about like a monkey trying to hump a football.
440 found a new home in the “Crop Duster”.
Back in 2000 I purchased my first car over the Internet. A Honda Accord. Salesman promised to sell me any car in stock for $300 over invoice, plus the price of any installed options.
Tetraethyllead.
Cool... but watching the roll overs with nothing more that the driver’s grip keeping his arm in the car is a bit scary. Might I suggest a window net?
Certainly didn’t look mule-ish. Looked like a brand new truck, fresh off the lot. I was driving across the bridge into town in the far left lane. Truck was way over to the right. Saw “RANGER” on the tailgate. Before my brain registered what I was seeing, I had already blasted past.
I saw one of these driving through St Louis MO last Saturday. Had to do a double take.
As others have alluded, the hybrid duratec is a Mazda based engine.
I searched quite a while for one myself. Had a 2003 sedan w/5 spd that I traded many moons ago to facilitate the purchase of a crossover for the wife. Been kicking myself ever since.
I just bought a ‘10 a couple weeks ago. Paid less than $18k. Has just over 60k miles...more than I would have preferred, but I was real particular about what I wanted; 3.6, RWD, 19-inch summer tire pkg (incls J55 brakes, LSD and FE3 suspension). Also did NOT want sunroof or navigation. And I didn’t want white or…
I’ve actually got a fair amount of experience riding in and driving these.
I desperately want one of these. Rust free examples are unobtainable in my part of the country. This particular one looks nice, but based on the description of it’s mechanical woes, is probably worth about half the BIN.
