The 4BT is a fairly common conversion. The 6BT is not. That's a massive motor with massive torque potential . A 4BT is a much better match.
305-auto would be less than ideal. Either the 305-5spd or 350 auto combo would be preferred. Add some creaky and leaky T-tops and you've got the perfect Firechicken of my youth.

Good buddy of mine had a 1980 Scout. With the Nissan turbo diesel no less. Purchased new by his dad. He inherited it as his first vehicle. This was back in the mid to late 80s.
