My first girlfriend had a Chrysler Laser, the Corporate cousin to the Daytona. Had the digital dash. First turbo car I had ever driven. It was a lot of fun when the boost came on.

I concur 100% with your assessment of the CTS coupe. I own the wagon version and it’s hard to believe both were conceived from the same mother. Where the wagon is proportioned so elegantly, the coupe suffers from acute cellulitis.
With all due respect to those involved operating under challenging conditions, that looked about like a monkey trying to hump a football.
440 found a new home in the “Crop Duster”.
Back in 2000 I purchased my first car over the Internet. A Honda Accord. Salesman promised to sell me any car in stock for $300 over invoice, plus the price of any installed options.
Tetraethyllead.
Cool... but watching the roll overs with nothing more that the driver’s grip keeping his arm in the car is a bit scary. Might I suggest a window net?
Certainly didn’t look mule-ish. Looked like a brand new truck, fresh off the lot. I was driving across the bridge into town in the far left lane. Truck was way over to the right. Saw “RANGER” on the tailgate. Before my brain registered what I was seeing, I had already blasted past.

As others have alluded, the hybrid duratec is a Mazda based engine.
I searched quite a while for one myself. Had a 2003 sedan w/5 spd that I traded many moons ago to facilitate the purchase of a crossover for the wife. Been kicking myself ever since.
I just bought a ‘10 a couple weeks ago. Paid less than $18k. Has just over 60k miles...more than I would have preferred, but I was real particular about what I wanted; 3.6, RWD, 19-inch summer tire pkg (incls J55 brakes, LSD and FE3 suspension). Also did NOT want sunroof or navigation. And I didn’t want white or…
I’ve actually got a fair amount of experience riding in and driving these.
I desperately want one of these. Rust free examples are unobtainable in my part of the country. This particular one looks nice, but based on the description of it’s mechanical woes, is probably worth about half the BIN.
Mechanical oil and fuel pressure gauges are mounted outside for safety. You don’t want hot oil or fuel spraying the interior in the event of a gauge or capillary tube failure.
That sucker has been for sale forever. Even been featured on BaT.
DANG!.... You're about a week too early for me to post my Protege5. Just waiting for a nice warm day to wash it and take some pictures. Be looking for it next week.
One of my job responsibilities is supervision of our fork truck maintenance program. So while it's not automotive, I get the same kind of shit.
The 4BT is a fairly common conversion. The 6BT is not. That's a massive motor with massive torque potential . A 4BT is a much better match.
