I can't tell you why everybody else buys Subarus, but we bought our 2012 Outback 2.5 Limited because it was a good value. Decked out with leather and every option other than nav, we drove it off the lot for $27K+. Replaced our gas hog 2007 AWD Chysler Pacifica (that had gotten totaled in a wreck). Gets 20+mpg around

Russel Bliss ultimately did prison time, but not for spreading the waste oil. If I recall correctly, he got nailed for tax evasion. Pretty sure he has since died.

I too have a CVT Subaru and I think it's PERFECT... for the wife to haul the kids and groceries around town, and for me to drive the family down the highway to Wally World.
It's got flappy paddle shifters for which I've never really understood their existence in a CVT application. "Shifts" are too slow for spirited

"It's 0.4 safer"

No T-Top automatically makes it CP

I agree, more racing is better.

I had a pretty good view of it, and camera ready in anticipation:

I was sitting in turn one and watched it unfold. Having the one care spray down the track with coolant was a cringe-worthy moment. Fortunately, the residual mess didn't impact the F1 race.
Pretty good argument for not having them back next year.

Doesn't sound like that'll be an option for the next generation WRX.

Better yet, will it dog? If my dog can't fit in the cargo area, it's not a wagon.

Can we all agree on a good metric that defines a Station Wagon?

Don't get me wrong. I like it. But it ain't no wagon.

Wagon:

Calling that a wagon is a bit of a stretch. Cargo area is worthless for much more than a bag of mulch.

These and any of their GM brethren would get snatch up quickly and turned into bomber stockers, finishing out their lives on dirt tracks.

Had a 94 Probe GT myself. My first new car. BIG mistake selling it and replacing it with a 97 SVT Cobra. Not that the Cobra was all that bad, but if I could get one back, it'd be the Probe. I continuously keep my eyes peeled for an unmolested example.

I'm glad I'm not the only gear head that saw that orange filter and do a spit take.

I had me one of them FWD Mustangs. My first new car was a 94 Probe GT. Near the top of my list for favorite cars I've owned (20 and counting).

Got me one.

Damn... Finding a suitable replacement for my hatchy wagon 5 speed Protege5 is gonna be a bitch.
