See that’s where I don’t know if I agree. The reality of America is a two party system, so where would those people go?

This is controversial, but I think if Democrats dropped their stance as the abortion party, then they’d have literally zero issue winning elections. Dunno if that’s the right thing to do, but I am positive it would work.
But they’d also lose voters as well. Some voters find body autonomy to be non negotiable.
My parents lived near that building 50 years ago and my mom was OBSESSED with trying to spot her. Then one day, my mom was pushing my brother in a baby carriage and Greta Garbo was walking towards them. As she passed my mom, she said, “you’re baby is beautiful”.
The overwhelming contempt for vegans in general is well-represented in this comment section. It eclipses this “militant vegan with a superiority complex” narrative that I’ve been hearing most of my life.

$25 is too high. Looking at comparable institutions: The Louvre is €8.50 (~$11.00) and the Prado is €9.50 (~$12.00) for adults.
Over at Racked, Marien Komar has written a fascinating piece on both the history of contraband cosmetics in prisons…
The early ones are so very good.
Was that during the Benjamin Bratt years? Those were rough ones. Lenny did a lot of heavy lifting for everyone.
I fucking hate it when couples say “we’re pregnant”. Um, no. Only one person is pregnant. If my husband ever said that I’d punch him in the nuts.
I can’t help but think it’s selfish in this day and age to have that many children. Granted, they have a bunch of money, but they should really adopt now. 5 biological children is a lot considering there are tons of kids that are already here and need loving homes.
Can you explain to me how the word came to mean someone with a nomadic or free-spirited lifestyle in a way that doesn’t link it to the Roma?
Any of the multiple meanings you may perceive the word to have originated with and link back to a racial slur. Please give me a context that doesn’t, I’m curious to know. Using the word to refer to someone who isn’t Roma doesn’t change where it come from originally.
The word originated because it was assumed that the Roma were from Egypt. It has a history of being applied to nomads/free spirits because it was originally applied to nomadic Roma. A racial slur doesn’t stop being a racial slur just because people are accustomed to using it in other contexts. I’m astonished at the…
It doesn’t matter if the US has no history of discrimination against Roma (which is incorrect, by the way; our country doesn’t have the best track record with oppressed minorities). A slur is a slur. I censored it because it is a slur. If a non-black person in a country without a history of racial discrimination…
That doesn’t mean the word isn’t a racial slur though. Part of the reason Roma are characterized as being nomadic is because they’re usually not welcome to stay anywhere for any length of time. In many places in Europe today it’s still considered acceptable to discriminate against the Roma; as recently as 2009/2010…
The point being “gypsy” is a derogatory term for Romani people. Unfortunately, they have about as much of a public voice as Native Americans, so they’re never heard, and if they are, it’s by people degrading them and asking, “Why is it a problem *only now*”, because with most people, if they’ve never heard of a…
Too many now a days forget that humans are capable of changing.
