This! So much this! It’s bad enough in normal play when people cover the number, but to cover the number and the tile? Clearly these designers have never had to play as the banker.

In the same way that there are browser plug-ins for auto-replacing Trump’s name with various insults, could someone create one for converting “James Woods” into “alleged coke-fiend James Woods”? The beauty of it would be that there’s nothing at all untrue. Whether or not he touches the stuff, it’s certainly true and

Because prequels have inherent issues to them. A New Hope (and the original trilogy in a larger way) has a character arc for Han where he goes from cynical pilot-for-hire to a hero with actual ideals. A prequel to that time has limited room for development if, by the end, he can’t be any more sympathetic a character

There are more measures of effectiveness than just cost. While I may not wish to live in a world where this is a punishment, I don’t want to live in one where our justice system’s primary moral judgement is cost either.

It’s possible that’s advice given because a taser isn’t a non-lethal weapon; it’s just less lethal. They may be discouraged from casually tazing those who are more likely to have a heart condition......... so it’s safer to just shoot them in the chest?

As I said up-thread, don’t confuse ideas with ideals. We can have different ideas and argue about them vociferously, but if we have similar values we can respect where those differences come from. If our values and ideals are incompatible, then there’s less room for compromise.

Don’t confuse political beliefs for values. We can disagree on the means to accomplish a goal and get along, but if our goals are opposite, then we’re going to have issues.

Unless, of course, there’s a reason to hurry and try and transition away from using that particular fuel. The Market isn’t exactly known for speed in such matters.

Uh. No. She hasn’t. She actually railed against it as being a pipe dream when the ACA was being pushed through and tried to use it as a stick against Bernie Sanders during the primary. She may have been for it once, but she’s been an opponent for years. But I’m sure the donations to her coffers had nothing...nothing

She’s not as bad, no. He’s patently unqualified to run for any office. She’s hugely qualified, but she’s on the wrong side of the issues.

Edit: [Good lord, I didn’t intend to write all this, but it happened anyway. The “Too Long; Won’t Read” summary? I’d take The Force Awaken’s finale over all the duels in the prequels combined, hands down.]

A fourteen year old who allegedly had a gun. Don’t you know? Cops never shoot unarmed people; they always find a gun on...or near...or somewhere in the vicinity of them. And if they survive and claim they weren’t armed, well you can be sure that’s just the sort of lie some gun-toting thug would tell.

So...it’s more unrealistic that there be a single person of color than children who can fly or have jaws in the back of their head or any of the other collection of oddities on display?

Lion 3: Straight to Video was amazing, but in turn it seemed like an homage to another episode of another show that belongs on the list. Cowboy Bebop’s Speak Like a Child, with another character trying to watch an old home movie. I just teared up re-reading the summary.

With all of the absurd investigations in the past 12 months alone, don’t you think they’ve already been trying? If they had even the slightest thing they could make stick, they’d have thrown Hillary in jail ages ago.

Why wouldn’t it? Did he switch parties? In this election cycle Hillary couldn’t hiccough without the media having a field day over it.

Isn’t that the point? I mean...really. Would a people who could read or think critically have elected the sort of people who instituted NCLB? If the country were full of critical thinkers, would this election season look anything like what it does?

While I can’t compete on the film’s content, when I was just at the tail end of middle school I saw Good Will Hunting. Which would have been mostly fine...except for two things.

That’s so true! Only the police are apparently endowed with the right to injure, loot, and put the safety of others at risk!

In the lead up to the second Iraq war, I was in one when the switch was flipped. I actually saw the moment that did it. One of the police who was slowly riding along on a small motorcycle beside the marchers decided to wheelie onto the guy from behind and take him down. The victim had been walking peacefully along
