How do you sleep at night? It must be a non-stop nightmare to know that somewhere in the sprawling metropolis (and throughout the world), there are people watching, reading, and listening to entertainment products that don’t perfectly align with your values.

So don’t watch it and if the ratings nosedive enough, it’ll go away on it’s own.

How long is recorded weather history though? 100 years? That’s not a very large timeframe to reference.

Yes, wind strength and observation. A typical storm will have relatively consistent wind direction, while a cyclone’s winds will change direction over time. It’s pretty hard to miss if you’ve ever been through one, so it’s not a huge leap of logic to figure out what must be happening without satellites.

I’m curious, before the advent of satellites and stuff, how did one distinguish a hurricane from a tropical cyclone from a post-tropical storm? Is it just wind strength and wind field and stuff? Or wind direction over a large area you can tell that it’s spinning?
