That’s exactly why I did not go under. If the impaction is not complex you can do it in the chair. The problmem was that she misjudged it based on the xrays and it ended up nearly being an emergency.

Ha! Two hours into having my wisdom teeth out, as the final injection is wearing off, the dentist looks at me and says “we probably should have done this under general anesthesia”. Thanks a lot. So yeah, jerks the lot of them.

My wife once had to drag me into the shower to break my fever, because I started seeing spiders coming out of the walls while laughing uncontrollably. Good times.

On the flipside, when I (a male) went to a female Dr with a kidney stone issue (which put me in hospital), I was a blubbering mess in her examination room. She almost laughed at me and basically told me to man up. I want to say that hurt more than the obstructive kidney stone, but no the actual stone hurt way more.

We have to keep in mind though, that medical technology has advanced in leaps and bounds. Regular people are now surviving into advanced age, much less people with round-the-clock medical services a finger snap away.
