I think Lonesome is a better record but man do I like Long Drive just a little bit better. I guess it was from all of the drives I took across the Midwest when I was in college. That is the perfect record for driving across the wide open skies & plains of the Midwest.

I think you've really hit on why I haven't really liked much of their stuff since Good News. Its not bad its just a little too polished. I think Moon and Good News really played well with the line between lo-fi and surprisingly perfectly polished that the departure from straight lo-fi (all their earlier work). I mean

1. Lonesome Crowded West
2. Long Drive…
3. Moon & Antarctica
4. Good News
5. Building Something…
6. Sad Sappy Sucker
7. We Were Dead…

A classic amongst my friends was whenever someone was getting upset we would quote this line.

Sorry - my sarcasm detector broke - apparently something to do with Poe's Law

Wait - why do you feel bad for them? You said you felt bad and then proceed to give a huge explanation about why they are the worst.

We got a live one folks!

Wait - the average person can only hold their breath for 30 seconds before passing out? I'm glad I spent countless minutes of my childhood practicing holding my breath just in case a situation arose where I would have to be underwater for long periods of time. I think I almost made it to 3 minutes at one point.

The only autographs I have come from authors. Living in Austin, we have a giant independent book store here that has book signs at least a couple times a month. They are notable enough that we have had quite a few big name authors come through. So for myself I've got Jeffery Eugenides signature on The Marriage Plot,
