Sorkin got a little…I'm not sure how to describe it…discomfiting and aggressive after 9/11 (see also: the Qumar sub-plot on The West Wing). Based on the flashbacks in the closing episodes of Studio 60, I thought he'd reined it in, but I guess not.

I hated the fact that it was the pilot's uniformed that snapped Don out of it, and I hated the "our armed forces killed Osama bin Laden for you" part.
