I’m caught up with the show now and I have to say, I’m disappointed that the last couple of episodes have backed off of exploring Monarch’s history. That’s far and away been more interesting to me than seeing it as a boilerplate Evil NGO.
Davies has suggested in the show’s official podcast that the concept is retroactive, meaning all the other formerly “dead” Doctors are out there now somewhere, too.
I think we can take Minus One’s success as a sign moviegoers are experiencing human fatigue.
Rule 1: The Doctor lies.
Rule 1A: The Producer lies.
I disagree a little here; the Monarchverse is a good setting for exploration, but I was hoping we’d get to see more of the changes introduced in the end credits of King Of The Monsters — the effect the kaiju are having on the planet and how humans are adjusting to that. What we’ve gotten three episodes into Legacy is…
I’ve seen one theory going around that not only will Fifteen keep the new ship layout, the indoor coloring will change from episode to episode.
Watched it this morning. We are SO FUCKING BACK.
You’re right! But the trailer seems to be giving those abilities to an Ezekiel, so he’s a warped version of the one that first appeared in the original 616verse. (COMICS, EVERYBODY.)
Like they say on The Flintstones, it’s a living!
It’s probably fair to guess whether there was originally a stinger set up to offer a look at another Kang Variant -- Renslayer washing up near a pyramid in the Void suggested to me Rama Tut -- and pulled in light of the Majors situation. But as things stand this episode was a suitable off-ramp from having to deal with…
giving Hiddleston and Owen Wilson one last chance to play with each other
The back half of Tennant’s second season is just insanely loaded: The Family of Blood two-parter immediately followed by “Blink,” and then the three-parter that firmly loops Torchwood into the mix on top of Ten’s face-off with The Master and one of my favorite needle drops in the series:
And don’t forget, Evil Giles!
Warren and Shirley Henderson as the sorta-doomed geeky lovers saves that episode for me.
Just got back from seeing it and it’s a fun popcorn flick, easily better than Shang-Chi and Black Widow. I can’t take the complaint about this movie being “too short” in good faith after years of kvetching that Marvel stuff is too long. Of the recent movies, this one did the best job of making me feel rewarded for…
I have to agree that maybe Marvel should’ve led with this “moment that CHANGES EVERYTHING” hype if they had something up their sleeves here. But Valkyrie showing up is a welcome surprise, at least.
Interestingly, there’s an Asgardian in the final trailer, which pinged my radar a bit.
I still enjoyed the show, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t yelling at the screen, “Just tell her that you want to save the TVA because the multiverse will literally unravel otherwise! Save the therapy for later!”, while that scene in the bar played out.
The post-credits bit in QM with the assorted Kangs hooting and hollering was pretty cringe, too.
