Speaking of Malcolm's more noble side, in the first deleted scene here, he quite adamantly rebukes an accusation of homophobia by Ollie. It doesn't excuse the nature of many of Malcolm's jokes, of course, but it's interesting to see that, at least in his mind, his conviction on the issue seems to be genuine.
