no thats a gross oversimplification. the Windows App store is just that. it sells apps designed to work on both tablets and PCs (key word "both"). these are simplistic apps like you already get on cellphones and tablets. Microsoft is simply trying to get in on the action.

you can run whatever you want. you cant buy whatever you want from Microsoft. there is a huge difference. Windows 8 runs everything Windows 7 can just as good (if not better).
