It won’t be long before they shut down the service as a cost-saving mechanism while they go over budget on the new ticket management system. Plus they could put the guaranteed funding to some better use, like a bigger parking garage for WMATA management.

Hah I wish I was entitled! Sounds great. I am a poor, sadly. As the post said, delivery vehicles should be allowed. Not sure what barricades mean, or maybe that is a dystopia I haven’t planned for. Only wish I had a high horse to ride.

I... is this actually on the table? Because here in the DC Metro area (pun intended), the tunnels are wide enough that you could absolutely walk through them in groups while keeping six feet apart. Exploring the underground, brutalist caverns underneath the city would be a dream-come-true. Heck, let WMATA charge

This is a ridiculous take. If you close streets to cars, how will the mayor’s motorcade drive to Brooklyn? How will NYPD officers use parking tags in no-parking zones?

This is a brave take to bring to a car blog. I actually agree with your general thrust, here—city streets should in general give more priority to people who aren’t driving private vehicles, now more than ever—but damn, it’s almost like you’re trolling us.

I can fart for miles and miles. What can I say? It’s a talent.

I’m guessing you’re happy enough with your Chinese phone, laptop and so on though?

Remember to take into account the agency certifying the range. Model 3’s range varies widely between EPA, WLTP and NEDC driving cycles.

I love a good piece of Chinese Propaganda

It doesn’t, I think they meant fiending.

I feel the same way. But it’s also weird. I feel uncomfortable when I see crowd scenes in shows now. I’ve found Narrowboating on youtube and the like and it feels more comfortable to see 1 or 2 people putting along in the middle of nowhere than watching a TV show where it was produced in a city and there are 50 people

A lot of the real small stuff (skid loaders, mini excavators) make sense as pure electric because you can use them indoors with zero emissions. But to get a full day of work on a machine like shown above.... You’re talking 4 or 5 teslas worth of batteries... crazy expensive.

There are actually full EV type haul trucks.
A mine in Switzerland uses them. They have a unique situation where the mine is at high altitude and needs to be taken to low altitude,so the trucks are charging the batteries while taking the load downhill, and that gives them enough charge to get back to the top again.

There's some of those mining trucks, the ones going downhill with a load, that are BEV. The other way around doesn’t work so well.

Wonder how this one is powered.

It likely makes sense for many backhoe type projects. Most of them need high hydralic flow to operate the booms and power use comes in spikes as you are digging in or lifting. Generally not huge power overall and they can be somewhat heavy.

Not recently—just saying in general in case dirty rotten thieves are reading the comments here.

I little document called the Constitution dictates that it be alleged until proven guilty by a jury of your peers.

But how will cops get their “hero” thrill-on if we stop car chases and used helicopters and tracer tags?

You fools! Buy two seaters! This is the perfect time to own a two seater, they are the social distancing car!
