I would like to see a double-bicycle symbol go viral as a reminder to stop and help our fellow human beings.

In the dark. As they rode by. They see the activity behind the dumpster. Something seems wrong about it to them. They turn back to investigate. They intervene. They call for help. They hold the perpetrator until the authorities arrive. They provide eyewitness testimony. They don’t seek the limelight, in fact they shun

See, fellow dudes? Women DO acknowledge a nice guy when he’s a GENUINELY A GOOD GUY!

I feel so strongly for these men. In her letter she writes that one of them was so overcome with tears that he could hardly speak after he found her. It’s clear that they experienced a lot of heartache during this process themselves.

Haters gonna hate but, when all is said and done, and we are 50 years past this, HRC is going to be on a dollar bill, or some monument, or something. The crap this woman has had to go through to get this far, and the pure gumption and chutzpa she has shown in the face of enormous animosity, sexism, and whatever else

I’m emotional today, so I can’t even imagine how she feels. This is huge and important and we should all take a collective moment to realize that. The people who are naysaying and frustrated, I understand that your candidate didn’t get the nomination or you don’t like her or whatever. But seriously, this is a MOMENT.

My daughter is almost 9 and she legit thinks that women are not allowed to be president because that must be why we haven’t had one by now. I’m going to let her stay up late tonight and watch.

She also once asked me who the first black president was. I said, Barack Obama, and she said “I know he is one of them, but

What the “he’s just mentally ill” argument misses is that the way mental illness is expressed depends heavily on ones home culture. In some cultures, auditory hallucinations are almost always perceived as neutral or positive messages. In the US it’s almost exclusively related to government intrusion and monitoring

I disagree with you on that point. It was almost a decade ago that that happened. And Hillary swallowed her pride for party unity and decided to play the long game. I didn’t support her in ‘08 because I supported Obama. I support her now because I could smell the issues Bernie has from the beginning of his candidacy.

Not really. It was much much closer in 2008, and the second that it was clear that Obama beat her, she packed it in and began campaigning for him immediately, long before the convention. In fact, she was the one to nominate him at the convention.

His ego and him being an old, entitled white man who can’t believe he’s being beaten by a woman.

For all that I admire many of Senator Sanders’s positions, I get the feeling that this is much more about his ego and about his really bad case of Presidential Fever than it is about the integrity of the system. Just tossing the dice and letting the chips fall where they may, with a possible Trump presidency as one of

There is a difference between continuing to love your child after something like this, and arguing that the rape of which his son was convicted was not a violent act. That is just fucked up, and it’s sure as hell not what a good father would do.

Nah, I’m actually offended. This letter was rape apology and gross, and this guy should be ashamed. His kid violated another human being and he’s looking to defend him. I get the impulse to protect your kid, but maybe acknowledge the enormity of his actions and say something that indicates you get it before being like

No. But I do think a decent human could refrain from calling his kid raping an unconscious woman next to a dumpster “20 minutes of action.”

There’s a difference between “being on his side” and “being a narcissistic arsonist who just dumped napalm on a fire that was about to go out.”

You can be on your kid’s side and not make excuses for their inexcusable behavior.

Oh, it’s just a letter? Then it’s totally cool. Can we get a list of all the convicted criminals in prison who don’t enjoy steak as much now, so we can commute all their sentences? I mean, we want to punish them, not make them enjoy ribeyes less. WE’RE NOT MONSTERS.

Yeah, no. I’m sorry, but I don’t and won’t accept that. When my kid slapped another child in school, I could understand that she was provoked, but I still punished her and told her I thought the school’s punishment was too lenient.

I’m just pleased that he had an out-of-home evaluation by professionals, because that whole thing with masseuse and the housekeeper was really weird. He has given so much to other people — I really hope that he’s getting taken care of properly now!
