Any science-y conversation in those movies is between Ray and Egon, and Ray clearly has no problem following Egon’s train-of-thought. As a veteran of both career fields, I can tell you that a lot of the terminology is standardized to prevent miscommunication. It’s clunky and dehumanizing, but IMO, it’s really more about the standardization than it is about dehumanizing.
