Not sure if you're aware but some/all these ports do offer pcie lanes through thunderbolt, even though iirc the certification is pending. I definitely get where you're coming from - I won't buy anything with easy pcie lane access.

I agree that cutting flights altogether is not practical, but I’m not sure fixing 1/25th of power plants would cost less than a few billions either. Not that that is an unreasonable cost - climate change is going to kill people and cost likely trillions - but it's not very small or quick either. 

Are you aware of CO2 emissions by mode of transport? I would have agreed with your point if these were empty trains or even buses. But fights are not only the largest CO2 emitter in transport but they are the largest BY FAR. In our uni we we researching into the carbon footprint. Meat consumption was a pretty big

I have the Haylou GT5's, they’re by a Xiomi subsidiary if I’m not mistaken. €30, USB-C plus wireless and pretty decent battery life. Latency though I can’t comment as I’ve never used it for low latency tasks. Though it’s worth noting that they’re quite sound isolating, not transparent at all.

Not remotely likely, though I would love that. E ink has looks horrible while refreshing the screen, and gaming/videos/anything with the display constantly changing would be near impossible.
