The moment I saw that Sims 2 launched without pets, I dropped the franchise. It was so clear I’d have to just rebuy all the expansions all over again for each new entry, just to get stuff like... pets.

Hasn’t he been hustling NFTs recently?
Me too. I had the privilege of interviewing him back in the Sims 1 days. Such an amazing and interesting person!
I miss Will Wright.
On some level you have to respect the hustle where they turned what was originally a commentary on consumerism into a franchise that releases the same set of thematic packs each cycle, costing hundreds of quid in total, before then starting all over again but with even fewer features at launch all while still keeping…
Agreed, the biggest asshole in any discussion is the guy who briefly looks up from his match-3 game to say, “Well from my elevated intellectual point of view, it sounds like you’re all equally wrong, and I can’t be bothered to learn anything about the situation to change that opinion, excuse me while I urgently match…
Breaking news: you’re being an asshole about it
It makes zero sense for alternate timelines being the reason for not hiring the original VA to do a slightly different version of the same character
an insultingly low offer for a role that she practically defined
It sounds like you only know about wages for hourly jobs where workers are mostly unskilled or minimally trained on the job.
You think you can record an entire main character’s audio lines in a week?
1: 8-9 figures is the budget of the title. It’s a AAA title, after all, even for Nintendo that’s going to be at least in the mid 8-figures.
“We held auditions to cast the new voice of Bayonetta and offered the role to Jennifer Hale, whom we felt was a good match for the character,”
She has other work, just not in voice acting. Most voice actors can’t do it as their full time job because the pay is notoriously awful.
It looks like Bayonetta was her breakout character. I can imagine it’s easy to get attached to a character you portray in those kinds of circumstances, so it’s easy to ignore other roles when you’re that fortunate.
If you want to boycott Bayonetta 3 and still play the game, Valve recently released a video about the Steam Deck featuring software that can help you. I would link to it but the video has since been pulled!
Personal issue or not. The company made an offer. She refused. Story done. She free to take her talents elsewhere. Company free to hire someone else.
This kills me, I thought the VA change was plot wise, that this was in fact a different character from other timeline
can’t wait for the chodes to all rush in defending billion dollar corporations paying their talent poverty peanut wages.
That’s nuts. I make $4K in two weekends of work doing far less intensive work than voice acting.
