It’s an odd show. I felt like it explored a lot of topics kind of aimlessly and superficially. The only real resonant theme throughout the series was one of abandonment and (to some extent) acceptance.

My understanding was it was a 10 episode series. I hope it stays that way.

Your mother is clearly a very wise woman.

Counterpoint, you can tell when there is someone else on your end of the line, but not if they’re on the other end of the line. That is if someone in your house is on the phone you can generally tell, but if someone is on your friend’s end of the call you wouldn’t be able to tell.

Is this the one where you get killed for flashing high beams? Cause that’s totally a thing. Brenda’s cousin Marshal knows a kid in school who’s brother got killed for flashing his high beams.

On a landline you can definitely tell when someone else has picked us the phone and usually tell if they’re on the line (on your end). Still no way an operator could tell someone else was “listening in” though as they wouldn’t be able to differentiate between caller and passive listener.

The cookies are definitely better.

Doing real work is hard and takes time. Being an internet SJW takes very little time or effort. It’s not hard to see why people choose the latter.

And you’d be promptly ignored by the army of special interest lobby’s and their Congressional lackeys.

Roger Goodell is no doubt trying to find a way to retroactively fine him for these insensitive comments.

While it may or may not (I’m inclined to believe not) be the majority voice of people who describe themselves as liberals today, modern progressivism is the loudest faction of self described liberals. When your average American hears “liberal” they therefore think of the progressives, just as when they hear

I think you need to clearly spell out what you mean by liberalism because what you’re describing sounds awfully like a liberal conservatism. The idea that you need strong, stable institutions and sets of social norms; distrust of government which is run by flawed and corruptible individuals. That’s a big part of

+1 just for the Glass Joe reference.

It’s less homogeneity and more that conservatives are less concerned with their individuality than the group.

Well God forbid they get a call wrong...

Isn’t that how surgeons operate? Cut first and ask questions later (if ever)?

Let’s assume you pay $10 to go to a movie theater and watch a 2hr movie. That’s $5/hr for entertainment. This is offering a significantly discounted price for entertainment by comparison. It’s all about the perspective you take when you look at the pricing.

They will be in control for the next 4 years at least. Democrats don’t show up for midterm elections and even if they did it’s highly unlikely they’d gain the House or Senate in 2018.

It’s probably fair to assume Wisconsin, but I never assume anymore based on sports memorabilia. Especially not when it’s an iconic team like packers, cowboys, steelers, etc.

When they stand up there’s probably enough slack in the legs to cover their ankles. Also depending on where they live “cold enough to wear jeans and boots” may not actually be that cold. I’ve seen people wear similar clothing in like 55-60 degree weather, nothing that’s likely to do damage to exposed skin.
