So is “fake queer” going to become the “fake geek girls” of this year? Seriously, their argument has so many holes it makes swiss cheese look solid.

The conversation happens all the time. I identify publicly as a gay man because of a few significant factors in how my life works. Personally, I wouldn’t consider myself as either part of the gender binary and, if I felt it would be easily implemented, would prefer they/them pronouns.

As a queer (yes, queer!) woman who actually works in the community and doesn’t just know some people, this is completely untrue. For the most part, it’s a widely accepted term and not just applied to”formerly bisexual people” (people still identify as bi, friend) or whatever you are saying.

As an English major with a trans teenager, I don’t give a fuck how you feel.

Have you ever stopped to consider that these people present male in their everyday lives out of necessity? My roommate is trans and uses they/them pronouns but when they go to work they present masculine and are addressed with he/him. If they didn’t do so they’d lose their job, 100%, so they begrudgingly deal with

But I still take umbridge with individuals adopting marginalized identities just because they don’t like the trappings of their assigned and lived gender.

Wow, perhaps you should have gone with Latin or something. Welcome to English! It evolves as the speakers do! Good luck, Jack!

Just because you picture your struggle and life experience to be more authentic or more challenging does not give you the right to delegitimize that of someone else because you think by looking at them that you know their truth or their authentic self.
Telling a gay man that he can’t self identify as queer because he

“Queer” =/= Perfect Non-Violent Woke Consent-Seeking Progressive In Every Way

Are you fucking kidding me????? A swastika is hate speech, with or without “anti-semetic rhetoric”. GTFO with this shit. And no, I have NEVER doodled a damn swastika. Believe me, my survivor granparents who raised me wouldn’t consider it a “youthful indiscretion”.

don’t fucking do this

Ben had sex with a gay man that I know, so not “straight”

But it was paired with anti-semetic rhetoric. They have tweeted numerous holocaust “jokes,” tweeted and posted on their Facebook about how they are scared of black people. I went to college with Ben and he said some of the most grotesquely racist things there I heard from any of my fellow students. Let’s all quit with

I feel a little betrayed. While somehow I am not necessarily surprised to find this out about Ben, it makes me extremely sad. It somehow makes me even more sad that these other people (Liv and Jeanette) haven’t tried to distance themselves. I guess they feel like that can’t? So disappointed :(

I’m so tired of strict grammar mistresses. This ain’t France, we don’t have an academy who decides this shit for us officially! And singular they has been in use since the 14th century. So.

Most of the people who use the term would have been called bisexual in the past. Most actual gay people I know (ie, the ones who were targeted with this slur in the first place) don’t use it as much.

It’s clear they are an abuser of women and/or femme identified people. That much we know, from the accusations.

I understood their point.

Right?
“It was me as a stupid kid”. No, you had body hair and a beard. You were an adult making light of Nazism.
