Do it. As a gay man, I like straight men to know what it’s like women deal with all the time.

If I was American, I’d be calling to report that ICE was asking for my documents outside a courthouse.

Thank you Rafi Schwartz for being so durn dilligent as to actually question a government agency as to their ‘prank-i-ness’. I must also repeat (herein) your most-excellent final statement...so:

Who cares what men think?

I binged the first three episodes yesterday morning and I now regret it because it was so good I want to be able to savor it and drag it out until the next episode is released.

I need a moment to compose myself so I can give a proper response to this...

“It’s a rape fantasy”? God knows sexualizing rape is a depressingly common trope, but I’m having troubling imagining how anyone could confuse the cold, clinical rapes in The Handmaid’s Tale with erotica.

I was legitimately worried that this was going to be another OITNB thing where men complained about the lack of focus on men in a story by women about women in a women’s prison.

Or maybe being black in America means constantly facing discrimination, at nearly every institution, and making the choice to discuss that publicly is incredibly difficult.

I’m not going to hate on him waiting to speak about racial bias he has faced anymore than I would hate on a woman taking a while to report sexual harassment. This is the fault of the perpetrators. Not the victims.

“As good fortune would have it, we had a bodyguard that summer,” she writes. They persuaded their bodyguard to buy lemonade, and then their driver, and then the maids, who “dug deep for their spare change.” The lesson, she says, is that the kids “made the best of a bad situation.”

Anyone else like that Angela is wearing pants and what look like practical shoes?

You make valid points. I was being very insensitive.

Man I have a lot to say about that kid. The first story is just tragic, the second is hilarious. Reminds me of some loser I met years ago who said something like “when I tell a girl i make 70,000, wonder what that bitch will say?”

Me: Since she’s a female CEO of one of Baltimore’s best startups, she’ll pat you on the

Wow, you sound like an abusive asshole. Kind of like the abusive asshole she was dating.

I bet it’s even more pernicious than the whole ‘league’ double standard - is he actually willing to engage a potential partner as an interesting person with their own desires, hobbies, tastes, and enjoy exploring all those and more together? What does he want or expect out of relationships?

Even wanting to tell women how much money you make, in the hopes of attracting them, makes you a vile douche. “Ace in the hole?” Ugh.

BBB, Id recommend blocking him from everything and cut off all contact right damn now. Engage in no further communication with this guy, no good can come of it.

I dont think you fully realize what sort of person you were dealing with here. The situation you described didnt sound like run of the mill freeloading

This this this. Block the mofo. Remove every last avenue that lets him have any sort of contact with you.
