Best thing in my day so far. Today I've also won the lotto, retired, had four mind blowing orgasms, eaten a pound of foie gras and been skydiving. But this was definitely the best thing so far.

Umm....something is wrong in your reckoning.

"Even if Company X provides a superior service...Comcast is pushing its customers into using the in-house stuff".

Yup. If data caps were at 5GB, and you could truly achieve 30Gbps, it would take you a whopping 1.25 seconds to use up your data cap for the month.

I'm an Apple fanboy through and through, but....

Now playing

Nope, that's a capybara. Nutria are a lot smaller than a capy, and are problems in more than just Florida (the are a problem with us in Washington too). They are water creatures though and are sort of a cross between a beaver and a muskrat. Here's a video of one playing in the "wild".

+1 sir. That was brilliant.

I've used an iPhone since it was first released. Been supporting Macs for 20+ years. And this article just clued me in to the fact that iOS has a built in Emoji character set. Mind = Blown.

"it's definitely better, but it's not, er, resolutionary"

Ahhhh...which, I suppose is why, theoretically, I could get 42+Mb/s off of HSPA+ - if I chopped up a T-Mobile SIM and slid it into my iPad. That would make up for the lack of AT&T LTE around these Seattle parts...

An AT&T guy yesterday told me that the new iPad was unlocked. But of course, this is theory until it is actually in my hands and tested.

"The last few days while I was at SXSW...when I tried to do anything at all it failed miserably"

Question then - recognizing that Verizon offers the broadest and fastest LTE connection - would the AT&T iPad still make a better choice when global connectivity for someone who travels a lot is a factor in the decision? Seems having dual-band LTE would provide a wider range of possibilities.

My assumption (hope) is that they step up the screen size a half inch and add LTE to the mix. Both would increase the power drain, thereby necessitating a bigger or better battery. Would hate to see the form factor changed to accommodate either though.

A point on the "ability to play any video format" comment - I can currently play almost any format on my unjailbroken iPad using VLC or Boxee. I appreciate with Boxee that it requires a machine on the local network running Boxee Manager, but it does work, and allows me to stream almost any format to my AppleTV too.

I wonder what that means for the next iPhone...

And this is why I got a prescription to marijuana for my chronic back pain rather than vicodin. Well, that and cause I now can get marijuana, by prescription.

So, poor messaging was the problem rather than what was actually being asked of the homeless? Seems like an intent vs. impact issue.

Call me a callous ass about this, but I don't see the problem here. It strikes me as little different than having a homeless newspaper where you are asked to donate a buck or two for a copy to the seller. At the end of the day, the homeless vendors are providing a service and probably making more in the day than

"Either way, nice to see that both are willing to bury the hatchet to make beautiful iPads together."
