And likely paying through the nose for it....sorry, you can play a bigger fiddle if you'd like ;-)

I assume the channels you were able to get were digital, but not HD? That sucks - I'd be complaining to my local affiliates about the loss in reception. Though, to be fair to the technology and your situation, that is part of the you-either-get-it-or-you-don't shift - channels which you might have gotten before, in

"Back in the day, old timers like me used to say that a platform wasn't a serious working platform unless you had two applications available: Office and Photoshop."

I've been using OTA as my main source of high-def TV for about four years now and, with the addition of online streaming from various sources, have seen no reason to pay for cable TV. The quality of OTA HD is so much better than what comes in through cable (at least from Comcast) or dish, and so much free-er, that I

Okay, good. I felt like people were missing something. I don't really know if swiping offers much [benefit...maybe] it makes more sense for the iPad?

Even though I was only the fourth or fifth comment, I was surprised it hadn't already been said ;-)

Spoiler alert if you were planning to watch the HBO documentary just to see the aftermath...

Animal rights protest in 3...2...

I may be clinging to vestiges of a day remembered, but please, please don't lump TiVo in with Blockbuster.

These simply make no sense given what is on the market already. While I feel there is no substitute for a real AT setup if you are planning to go up and down snow in the mountains, if you are looking for something which is a bit less of a commitment, these ([www.altaiskis.com]) would be a better bet than the Hive

I did add in the theoretical/potential disclaimer there. At least at my office, there is only one person I know and work with who runs at full capacity and is able to bill for every minute. For her, moments make all the difference. The SSD is more of a pacifier for most people in my office - keeps them from

Most of our MBP's are configured with the stock 5400RPM hard drives. Using three people as tests, we determined that they spent approximately 10 minutes a day looking at the beachball spin, waiting for apps to open, etc. The SSDs we chose (Crucial m4's) reduced or eliminated these small delays almost completely,

We're shifting our entire office to SSDs this year. Most people will get a 128GB SSD, while a few will end up with 256GB SSDs. Rough napkin-based calculations show that this will save each person about 45 minutes a week (this is based on three non-scientfiic tests), or about 45 hours a year. That efficiency more

One has to assume cost is the main factor.

We take our son to a naturopath who graduated from University of Washington with a doctorate in Pediatric Medicine and then went on to get her Pediatric Naturopath degree from Bastyr University, one of the best non-traditional medicine schools in the country. Everything I said came from her, and is supported by Dr.

From what I've seen in the past two years of being a parent, the best thinking seems to indicate that vaccinations in and of themselves aren't causing any major problems as much as the traditional schedule they are given in. There are a number of newer schedule available which are better suited to individuals - ones

I've got to say, I'm surprised they've stuck with the Macintosh brand for so long. Macintosh is a good brand, but Apple is a much better brand. I rather expected Macintosh to end as a brand when we went from IBM to Intel processors. I would be very interested to see what the next brand from Apple would be.

So help me - if I have to jailbreak my mac just to run the software I want I will do something I have never done in my 36 years here on this planet - buy a Windows PC.

Not only do they develop for OS X, I believe they have the second largest OS X development base of any software company, second only to Apple. But they do do some iOS development, and work with Apple on some core iOS features as well (Exchange functionality was apparently codeveloped between Apple and MS).

A lot of MS employees carry MacBook Pro's around. They are not allowed to carry iPhones though. Maybe that is because you can boot a MacBook Pro into Windows, but you can't boot an iPhone into WM?
