    he's referring to the constant and unnecessary down and up-shifts that keep jarring the engine to different rpms, granted the computer probably blips the throttle on downshifts but regardless that can't be good for the clutch

    Well considering that the traction control on modern BMW's can apply the brakes at any wheel if it finds it necessary to aid traction perhaps the right front brake was applied... or at least partially. Also the steering in his 3 series (and basically all newer BMW's sold in the US) all have active steering that
