@Whitson Gordon: Haha, my bad. I just dl'd it as soon as I saw it, I was so excited. And I didn't play around with it much. Thanks!

RIM's problem with this is going to be exposure. How are they going to get it into people's hands, so they can play with it and see how it functions. Apple has their Apple Stores, so people can go play with the iPads. Where can someone go to play with a PlayBook?

Nifty! Now the only feature that 7 has that I want is the snap feature. It makes my life so much easier when I'm using the lab computers for my stats class. If only I had it on here…

Man, I miss having a T9 keypad. I'm probably faster on a hardware QWERTY than I was on T9, but my ability to type without looking has pretty much disappeared. Or at least diminished itself so much so that it's almost non-existant. Even on a terrible, completely flat T9 pad (Moto Zine ZN5), I never had to look. On a

@Standish: Oh my God, did you hear he's dead?!

Is this an older concept, or did they just feel like it'd be fun to throwback to mini-USB instead of micro?

@OMG! FriedPeeps: Unless you're rich enough that it doesn't matter, and then it's all about status. It's like buying a Rolls Royce. It's not about the V-12, it's not about the ultimate luxury you sit in. It's about the hood ornament.

@uncle_jojo: And walking around singing "Puttin' on the Ritz"

I'll wait until parallax barrier tech gives wide enough viewing angles, then I'll buy into it. Oh, and I'll wait until that tech is as cheap as a current mid-range 1080p LCD TV. Hell, I may not even buy into it until all of that applies to, plus it being an OLED TV.

@DWD: My guess is that you will need higher resolution images to achieve the equivalent resolution we have today. But hey, that's why we have those new 100MP lenses that are being developed. And the super-high ISO cameras (I know, they're not great now, but give em a couple years).

Holy shit. That was weirdly like 3D, without it needing to actually be 3D. It was like real life, when you focus on something close, then adjust your focus to something far away. That was amazing.

Do mountains to the West preclude your ability to see this?

Maybe calling them "AIDs" is a bad idea. Dunno why…just seems like it could possibly mean something else.

@tonyjl: Oh man, your Mercedes analogy was priceless. And perfect. Paying for top quality hardware, but the user experience sucks.

If Android is peeing in your pants, what does that make Symbian?

Can anyone tell me the exposure technique they used that allowed them to capture stars in daylight? Is it just a particular filter paired with a super long exposure? I know a tiny bit about photography (as in, as much as I learned from a high school photo class 6 years ago), but not enough to be able to do that.

Is it striking a phosphorescent paint/dye of some sort? I would think it would have to be…

@NorwoodIsMyHero: You do realize that they sell 86 million phones a year, right? I'm not quite sure how that's not doing it well…

@Aaron Crabtree: Sorry, first paragraph should read: "…hundreds of miles from coal plants…'…isn't caused by coal plants.'"
