Was going to mention the Talladega as far as NASCAR + innovation. I think the O/P gets it wrong saying there's not a lot of innovation in the annals of NASCAR. As long as it's been around, guys have been trying to get around the rules.
The swiveling landing gear seems to be a pretty handy feature. Why doesn't it exist on more large planes? I've seen some pretty hairy crosswind landing videos where it would've come in handy.
