Whatever cars that you’re considering do research on the insurance payment before you lay down the cash. Give the choices to your agent and make a comparison. I’ve seen such variations that the money saved off certain cars allowed the owner to get an upgrade model or just pocket the savings. Take my advice on this

ROGFLOL, perfect. Reply of the day.

Cadillac Northstar engines have the starter under the intake also. My candidate for simplest cheap part that is in a stupid place goes to Audi/VW for hiding a thermostat behind the timing belt on many V6 engines.

I can so relate to this entire post. A friend and I from car club were at a Pull-a-part in Ohio taking cylinder heads off an Audi when we realized that a guy working on a VW nearby had taken some parts we had removed from the engine and sat in a pile. He looked like a real dirtbag as did his buddy so we didn’t try to

I being an original gangster here can verify all the above. In the 70s I had a TR4 and joined a British car club for the Tidewater area of Virginia and northeast NC. Everyone of my friends loved their cars but hated their cars. I learned early on that a wire can show continuity between point A & point B but not light

Didn’t really hate it , but I’d say least favorite was a 1979 Buick Regal Limited with the Pontiac 301 motor. The valve train noise could rattle the teeth out of your skull. We had to run Castrol 20w50 in it just to keep it somewhat calmed down.

Okay guys, keep hamming it up. Some day that radiation might BBQ us all.

Exactly. I have driven more than a few cars, WITH the owners consent only. Once when I was only 20 I delivered a shiny new black Javelin AMX to its owner. He wasn’t home to receive it and his housekeeper let me use the home phone to call work. Our shop told me to hang out OR DRIVE AROUND his neighborhood for a while

I’ve live in NC and Texas around a lot of good ole boys and have a million stories but this was one of the best. When tuning a Jeep the guy at a corner gas station near my work swapped a fuel vapor line with a vent hose going onto the distributor cap. When it started it the vapors explode and drove part of the cap

Thanks for the info . Looks like I’ll grab a 4gb graphics and 500+ power supply and my Forza 6 Apex can run at better than minimal setting for a few years.

I’ve worked in shops for 30+ years and only know of one time any employee even came close to wrecking a customer car from screwing around. It happened because he couldn’t handle RWD high hp in the rain and then only thing damaged was the tire and rim on a Vette.

True. Got a brand name sports coat a couple years ago and expected to cut the threads to open the pockets. It only had flaps, faux pockets FTL.

Exactly my thoughts, its not exactly like they are just giving the service away. They try to make it sound like its almost a freebie.

No problem. All my laptops and last PC are Intel and I haven’t played with AMD since building a system about 14 yrs ago. It was just a shot in the dark for some insight.

How are the AMD Bulldozer processors in regards to power consumption and heat? I’ve got a PC that I’m thinking of adding a 2gb larger video card to and it only has a 300w power supply. The Bulldozer FX-8130p consumes 125w. I’ve been thinking if I go from an Asus 2gb to 4gb video that I should maybe jump to about

Why isn’t this talked about more? How are other car companies being sued but GM left out?

GM knew they were bad before anybody, but they were cheap and thats all that mattered.

Seriously, you can call bullshit but it was real. It was about 10 years ago and installed in Toledo. Had an in glove box dedicated tuner wired in. Looked like Ford ones by Steeda, the SCT ones. It had 6 selections of tune. I’ve worked in a Chevrolet dealership for 30 yrs and had never seen anything except where you

I remember him first in Weird Science.

Very cool. I love that type of stuff. It seems like many of that sort of cars are what people care for and last longer. When I’ve been to a few Nationals events for domestic or foreign you hear of these rarities and get the chance to see a few.
