You could. But if you have even enough discipline for a budget, you can just use your credit card as a debit card and stay within your budget rather than looking at your spending limit. This doesn’t change the effect on your credit, but it allows you to get rewards.

Don’t have to be a couponer to know a good price either. I know the prices of the things I buy. I can see the frequency of sales too, just by shopping. I’m not going to buy paper towels I hate just because I have a 50 cent off coupon to make them roughly the same price as the ones I like.
