I’ve really had it up to here with this year. I love this show. And it was really kind of cathartic to binge watch it recently with everything going on. Sad to see how much hasn’t changed, but inspiring to see women working for equal rights. I just feel like we really need something like this now as inspiration, but

I resisted watching it for a while but started last week. Now I’m nearly done and I’ve really loved it. Very disappointed to hear this. I really enjoyed the cast and after an episode or two I forgot about Mad Men comparison (with the exception of the Don Draper-like magazine owner).

My holiday card this year says “Happy Holidays” in ten different languages and I’m giving them to all my miserable Republican neighbors along with $25 donated to “liberal” causes in their names.

Girl, cool your tits. This isn’t news.... Bob Dylan has been a reclusive curmudgeon since forever. He’s always been anti-giving-the-fans-what-they-want. He does what he does just for himself. And if people didn’t somehow like this about him, for all these decades in a row, they’d’ve given the Nobel to some Twittering

I just want to give a shout-out to Penzey’s Spices for being publicly vocal about the election results. Not only do they produce amazing spices and spice blends, at amazing prices (seriously!), they are a company with a social conscience and not shy about supporting progressive policies. Give them a like on facebook

While I have friends who did their med school in Cuba, acknowledge the role he played in supporting Mandela (to a large degree because he wanted to tweak the nose of the US any way he could) and agree that US policy in Latin America has often been a disaster, I have little sympathy for someone who executed 5000

WOOT WOOT!

Does anyone else find it ironic that Shade Court has become a bright spot in the world? Anyway it’s awesome.

Those parts are no longer unknown, it seems.

Cool story, Lena. Hope your Oppression Olympics Thanksgiving comes with medals tonight.

So delicious!! You need to find some ASAP. Below the Mason Dixon line is a good place to start.

Pimento cheese ring with bacon jam in the center, caramel apple cheesecake, dressing, gravy, and cranberry sauce. I’ve been in the kitchen most of the day, except when I had to take my sick, feverish kid to urgent care. But now the food is made, we’ve got antibiotics for the strep, and I’ve got wine, so bring on

Woo early SNS!

Jezebel, thanks for replacing Gawker as my favorite source for snarky, sometimes-frustrating, but always colorful journalism. It’s especially nice to know that I’m not alone in my deep post-Election frustrations.

With all my intuitive, witchy powers I tell you I have long believed Kanye to be bipolar. Love him, feel for him, he’s a blowhard but brilliant. Let’s try a little compassion- when it comes to mental illness, celebs are really just like us- except sometimes the fishbowl exacerbates the delusions and makes it harder

My dad is still warring his Hillary pin. My dad went to Vietnam so he isn’t afraid if people say anything to him about it.

I’ve been a teacher since 1998. In this year alone, I’ve had kids paint swastikas in the front of our school. I had a blonde kid I did not know come up to me and do a Nazi salute and say, “Heil, Frau Bensey”. Note: I’m one of the only black teachers in the high school. This term, I’ve had two white kids raise their

Please stop with the “alt-right.” They are neo-nazis. White supremacists. White Nationalists. Take your pick. But do not use the language they adopted to hide who they really are.

STOP calling them Alt Right!!! They are NEO NAZIS!! The fact that they’ve given themselves a harmless sounding name does not change what they truly are.
