I was responding more to the OP than to you, but I guess I hit a nerve. Your sarcasm and insults tell me more about your capacity for abuse than you realize. My point was that abuse can be passive. Neglect, anti-social behavior, etc., are also abuse. Nobody is “a perfect boyfriend,” and nobody is expected to be.

So you only pretend to care about a pet your wife loved deeply, but I bet you think you are a good husband. *sigh* Your wife deserves better. Maybe, in fact, your lack of empathy is the reason she misses her dog so much.
