Why?
Why?
I was deeply relieved that Gaza was mentioned and Ferguson merited an entire paragraph. Those were the first two horrible shitstorms that jumped to mind, and really sort of bury the rest, IMO.
More like Russian Roulette with your dick, since it would take a miracle for it to actually get in your ass that way, but it's a good way to break your dick, or at least bruise it badly.
Additional one that can/should happen:
Emma wins.
Not listed, should be, and should be named: breathing a lungful of smoke into a vagina or butt. Let's come up with a name for it. (Different names for different kinds: pot smoke and, say, crack smoke would definitely be very different.)
Also, possibly the worst part of this for me is that Cameron and his ilk keep making campily bad movies, and I love campily bad movies, but I can't watch these because the "OMG WE'RE SO PERSECUTED" shit makes me so ragey.
I can't actually figure out what's happening here - is he opposed to all the Santa and trees and shopping and blah, or is he proposing a new way to connect them to the idea of Jesus? DOES NOT COMPUTE.
No, I'm addressing the real issue. the "hard" issue is not relevant to me. I would be personally disgusted if I knew someone who aborted after viability for no health-related reason, but I still don't want our shitty-ass legal institutions to be able to make the call as to whether a woman should carry to term, at any…
The important issue is that what I think doesn't matter; what the pregnant woman thinks does. Like it or not, we have to trust women. I know that's tough for some people, but any other option is forced motherhood.
"My bet is that the criminalization of her actions will cause a lot more dead 28 week old fetuses, not less."
Yeah, but the important thing in pro-life thinking isn't the welfare of fetuses or babies, it's moralistic jackasses feeling good about themselves. Priorities, people!
"...give the morally self righteous in society the ability to punish her for something they erroneously believe could never happen to them because they're good people and good people don't have unwanted pregnancies with no access to safe timely termination?"
I'm going to go ahead and say that extreme mental issues would have to be at play here, and that perhaps the poor woman deserves a leeeeetle bit of sympathy.
Pardon me... you know a really good looking Dana and he's single? (ahem)
Given that I am a woman named Dana, I would give a guy named Dana a bit more of a chance simply because I think it would be hilarious. I could also never bone a guy named Gerry/Jerry/Gerald because that was my dad's name.
Thanks Isha!
Sorry, wait, I was thinking 28 month. Either way, if it's a fetus, it's not a 28-week-old infant, it's a fetus.
"the body of a 28-week-old infant was found"
IMPORTANT CORRECTION: it would be called a "28 week gestation fetus." FIX IT. A 28 week old infant would have been alive outside of her body for 28 weeks, and that is not what happened.
Worth reading if you haven't already:
What is with the goddamned respectability politics? Mike Brown didn't do anything wrong, why is his funeral being used as a platform to lecture black folks about how they're somehow responsible for their position in this disgustingly racist society?
