So is this series just inspired by the books and not an actual adaptation of Altered Carbon? The article description is significantly different from what happens in the novel; if there’s any character in the story that doesn’t have a problem with getting resleeved, it’s Kovacs.

In the first few pages of Altered Carbon, Kovacs is the middle of a heist of some kind. His apartment gets SWATed and he gets killed. He wakes up sleeved in Ryker’s body. He has some dysphoria, but he’s an Envoy, so while he comments on the incongruities, he’s trained to handle waking up in Someone Else.
