I’m 6'1 with tiggle bitties so basically every dress with a defined waist becomes an empire dress on me....I wouldn’t mind it coming back into style. I was super stoked when capri/flood pants came back in considering thats how long pants fit me.

I was a part time mechanic for most of my life working in my Dad’s shop. I left the trade for good after 15+ years of being asked if I could ‘get one of the men’ or if they could make an appointment for service. They would do it when I was literally elbow deep in an engine. I lost money because so many men would…
Adults need booster shots as well, which most don’t think about. Plus the yearly flu vaccine. If you’re traveling it’s often a good idea to get boosters or vaccines of diseases that may be prevalent where you’re going.
I’ve had several insurance issues over the years, and worked for a company that changed their plan yearly for 6 years. My medication for my easily treatable genetic disorder is 245,000 a year and I will be on it forever. It took me TWO YEARS to get collections off my ass because the hospital decided to send me to…
I grew up working with my dad in an auto shop. Managed a chain shop for a while when I was in my early 20s working with all male coworkers. There’s a reason I’ve gone on a ton of first dates, maybe 3 second dates, then I met my current partner in my late 20s. I drop dudes FAST when they say/do something heartless or…
This was a gut punch to me when I read it. I had to get a colposcopy and a few biopsies because my dr though I had cervical cancer (it runs in my family). My bff drove me back and forth to the appt because he didn’t ‘want to sit around waiting all day’ and then after curling up in bed with a hot water bottle after…
Years ago, my sister and I were cutting through a casino in Vegas to get...somewhere. We walked through Margaritaville and my very drunk (at 9am) sister stopped, looked around and yelled ‘WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS THIS’ and then just kept walking.
You basically described my wardrobe choices from 1998-2015 or so. And sometimes currently.
I have curly hair too, I usually do a semi-messy low knot, either in the back or to the side. My head is gigantic, so I stick to smaller hats that sit on the crown or to the side, that way I can mold them to fit. I don’t think I have a single hat that actually sits like a normal hat does, they all need to be pinned.
It’s true! I get really weird looks and A LOT of super rude comments when I dress up (which is how I used to normally dress when I lived in CA). I mean, a dress jacket and hat isn’t exactly me taking a lot of time...it’s actually less clothing than jeans/tshirt/vest/jacket etc.
ANYTHING can be a ceremony worthy of a sweet hat if you want.
I am an American woman, age 34, and I collect vintage hats. I wear them EVERYWHERE. Fascinators, veiled hats, pillbox hats and I have a white feathered hat with netted veil that I will be wearing at my wedding this fall.
Yep. My partner originally tried the ‘but I want my last name to go on!’ thing, so I just pulled up a census/ancestry thing online and showed him that there are literally THOUSANDS of people with his last name. More than 9000 with his exact first and last name. There are less than 2000 with my last name...and I’m the…
My very traditional Jewish Mother in law told me that if she could go back, she’d keep her maiden name. I was kinda shocked, tbh. Even my husband was surprised as she always seemed very traditional in that sense. I kept my name, my partner got irritated when I first told him, then stopped and said ‘wait, why the fuck…
I’ve got a bit of a sweet spot for that scene because that’s how my partner proposed, but I also know he’s not a creepo so that makes it ok, right?
I stopped telling people about my medical issues and eventually pretty much stopped having friends altogether. I don’t have fibro, but I do have two other medical issues (one genetic, one autoimmune) and since nobody has heard of the genetic one, people assume I’m making it up. Add to that the track marks I have…
To be fair...I’ve never really shopped in brick & mortar shops though. I’m 6'2 and the ‘tall’ section has been relegated to online sales for years and years now. And apparently, everyone is under 5' tall because I can’t even find a tshirt or sweater that goes below my belly button. So, online it is!
The owner of my company is a HUGE Trump supporter and was basically jumping up and down about how excited he was that the tax plan was going to be passed. He was going to save sooo much money and pass it on to us!
Seriously. I’ve heard soo many horror stories from friends and family about how terrible pregnancy can be that I just want to punch anyone that says ‘just give it up for adoption!!’ My aunt broke her pelvis during delivery, my bestie was put on bed rest from 6 months to the end of her pregnancy (and ended up losing…
This may be a weird, unpopular opinion....but I do wish my mom would have aborted me. My Dad could have finished college and wouldn’t have been stuck as a mechanic, and they also wouldn’t have gone bankrupt not once, but twice because of my medical bills from being sick most of my life. I very nearly ruined their…
