I think some gas stations will go away. But some will become convenience stores or cafes that will happen to offer gasoline and likely BEV charging in the future.

I think the bigger, more important question here is: how will all this net-new energy be generated? even if the amount currently provided by renewables was tripled, it won’t be enough to provide what will be needed to keep all these vehicles on the road.
Yeah, if there’s going to be some way for me to prevent my car from being used to support the grid, it’s worth a somewhat hefty investment to do so. A car is the second most expensive thing I’ll ever buy after a house; I’m certainly not letting some corporation put wear and tear on the most expensive component of it…
But are people really going to say “Yeah, sure, DIScharge my battery if you want. If I need to go somewhere, I’ll just wait until it recharges again.”
As such, it is currently impossible to speculate on what happened in this incident, apart from what can be seen in the video.
This happened to my Mom when she was about 28. It doesn’t matter how old you are, if you are SURE your foot is on the brake and the car isn’t stopping, you are just going to press HARDER.
Tesla brakes are still hydraulic. There is no mechanism in the vehicles that will disengage the mechanical brake. The systems can apply the brakes and they are returned like every other car. The brakes are powerful enough to overcome the electric motors in the vehicle.
Pedal misapplication.
Not much of a Tesla story here other than the fact they can check really detailed data of the accident so quickly. The are numerous accidents each year where people think they are standing on the brake pedal but the are on the accelerator. Apparently it might happen in Teslas, too.
It’s probably worth noting what the area in the photo looks like when it’s not in monsoon/insane flood season:
The only thing I disagree with here is that this is in any way a recent phenomenon, as Disneyland has increasingly been an exploitative fleece job that constantly movws away from Walt’s “vision” (and called out as such) for decades. Blackout days, restrictions, price increases, costly add-ons that force you to pay or…
You’re maybe not the compassionate liberal you think you are if you’re fine with calling people “awful c-nts” for disagreeing about a salary.
I mean, she said she wanted $X and they said “That’s too much” and made a counter offer, which she also rejected. At that point they hired Jennifer Hale, and STILL offered Taylor a cameo role for $4000. She rejected that and went scorched earth about it. The director is apparently a huge dick (at least on Twitter, but…
Boy did you just jump to a conclusion. Very athletic. Bravo.
You haven’t looked in 15 years, then. According to Google, it was at its highest in 2007, at around $2 to 1£. Right now, it’s $1.13 to 1£.
Yeah, this one’s definitely on Taylor. She, intentionally or not, led everyone to believe that Platinum/Nintendo were only paying her $4K for all voice work of the main character. According to her latest comments, she got paid 3000£ for the first game, so $15k is actually a nice improvement, I think (even accounting…
Yeah, per bloomberg which latter corroborated by at least 2 other newsgroup.
Based on the report, the later offer was $4000 for a cameo/guest appearance, not as the lead.
This WAS a union gig, which puts her claims into automatically dubious territory.
She’s in a union and this is a union gig so point 1 doesn’t really apply here.
