“California has the nation’s second highest gas excise tax”
Heck, the power grid in most places can’t even handle everyone switching yet. And yeah, we need a much, much better charging infrastructure- especially for cities with street parking where traditional chargers don’t work
A truly ignorant comment right there. Trucks are and have been for decades the working man and womans vehicle of choice when they have tasks, job, or duties that require hauling or carrying or towing large items. Period. It’s one of the most practical and useful vehicles ever created.
Or CAFE rules make light trucks (crossovers and trucks) more attractive for manufacturers and consumers leading to their adoption along with the benefits of their size.
Nowhere to charge EVs in most rural counties. And roads are really bad out in the sticks, so you need 4WD and a lift just to be able to go visit granny. The only EVs that can handle country living aren’t priced for country folk.
Its not that sales are over riding the EV sales, its that there aren’t any to sell, or they are cost prohibitive for most families. In all the dealers around when I live, there are very few hybrid and no EV’s. Mavericks, Mustangs, Ionic5's are all build orders, and no real timeframe as to when they will get them.…
If the cost of electric SUVs where lower, perhaps more would switch to electric. But If you have say 2+ kids and a dog your going to go for a 35k explorer with 3 rows instead of a 62k Tesla with 3 rows. Also the threat of hot summers and or cold winters causing energy consumption spikes to overwhelm the electric grid…
Basically EVs are currently impractical for almost anyone that’s not a homeowner, and homeownership is incredibly expensive in most cities. The government needs to drop the tax incentive and straight up subsidize the price and installation costs of EVs through rebates and discounts. They also need to force apartments…
Can we please use a better picture or at least say at the top this guy is 24 years old now.
Do you have any idea how much EVs cost? Also not everyone lives in an area where charging is easily accomplished.
Is that an old photo or is he a literal child?
I imagine the EGS exclusivity hasn’t exactly helped sales either. I know I’d like to check it out, once the exclusivity expires.
Making a better game probably would have helped. A lot of the reception that I saw online was something along the lines of “I was really excited about this but it looks like it sucks”, especially with all the technical issues that accompanied the blah characters, story, setting, and gameplay.
I saw what a buggy mess it was at launch and decided to hold off. I'm guessing a lot of other people did as well. Once a big patch comes out with some extra content I'll probably pick it up.
What’s weird is that for so many people, the actual gameplay and mechanics aren’t going to decide whether this will be a buy. The real question is going to be how this ends up getting monetized. Because if there’s even a hint of gameplay mechanics like gear, upgrades, or skills getting monetized, then this game will…
That’s because it probably IS an unofficial marketing campaign. The publisher is in a difficult place right now, to put it mildly.
It’s hard to get excited for a Blizzard product nowadays, but damned if my primitive numbers-go-up lizard brain isn’t trying.
I’m surprised they’re still having a single player mode at all, after having absolutely zero additional content for the single player in GTA5 after 9 years
