I was thinking the same thing too, and hit CP.

I was holding out for time travel...

Some people like their cucumbers pickled.

Short of a tank, Polaris XP1000, Baja 1000 rig, and Humvee, you are not traversing any 6' tall piles of snow with any SUV with a warrantee today. Plus, when the weather clears, take a tape measure to your wife’s Legacy (presuming it’s an Outback), and measure that it has more ground clearance than an Escape. Taller

Ramming speed!!

I will definitely put money on a Vanagon floating down that river. I’ve seen an F350 float in 4ft of water that was stationary, never mind with that much hydro dynamic flow from the current. Bottom line is that guy has a horseshoe up his ass, and would be wise to avoid that kind of crossing again. Next time might be

Not sure if you noticed the current, but that depth of water moving at 10kts+ would have floated your veedub, rolled it over and be a very bad time. That individual was lucky he didn't do the same. He sunk quickly, but had floated for a brief moment. That was more of a rapids crossing than calm river wading. Ballsy

Me too!

Christ, the swamp yankees got into a pissing match on my street, and it didn’t get plowed for a month! The garbage truck couldn’t get down the damn road. Lock that bitch in 4x4 and bust through the swails, and stop being a pussy all your life, people!

Wow.

Because I chose a 4x4 Nissan. Same thing but different.

It’s a Jeep thing.

I love my truck, and the future looks bleak.

How many friends or siblings did that playing Battleship? All of them!

That was the best prose I've ever read on Jalopnik. You get all the win today.

“The shrieking night in my brain grows louder as the stars grow bright above. CRESSIDA is its shrill call. CRESSIDA is that against which I have no power. CRESSIDA is what I require.”

Reminds me of this map.

Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I keep on thinking about taking the anemic KA24DE out of my Frontier, and wedging the VQ35DE from the same generation Pathfinder, complete with all the fixuns in its place. It's a terrible idea.

I’m sure that the electrics and auto transmission will fail long before the cat will. Progress has not been their strong suit.

I lived near ORW on the other side of Clairemont many moons ago. That is amazing people would still blindly drive through a flood like that. The water doesn't drain off easily there, and the locals should know that. Can't fix stupid.
